This dataset contains information about eviction prevention resources available to Los Angeles County residents in 2024. We define eviction prevention resources as direct services offered to tenants to help them avoid eviction (e.g. legal aid, rental assistance, etc.), educational materials and self-help guides designed to help tenants understand housing rights and the eviction process, and efforts to strengthen eviction prevention that do not include the provision of direct services to clients including advocacy campaigns and philanthropic funding priorities related to eviction prevention. Each entry lists a different eviction prevention resource and includes details about the types of support available, geographic service area, and eligibility criteria.

This study was developed in partnership with a Community Advisory Board (CAB) of service providers working to help provide eviction prevention resources to tenants in Los Angeles County. The CAB included community experts knowledgeable about eviction prevention in Los Angeles. They contributed to the development of the dataset by suggesting resources for inclusion in the dataset, suggesting search resources that service providers use to help find eviction prevention resources for clients, sharing which types of eligibility criteria are important to capture in the dataset, and they reviewed and provided feedback on drafts of the dataset.
