Project Description

Summary:  View help for Summary The California Violence Experiences Survey (CalVEX) offers insight into experiences of physical violence (inclusive of gun violence), sexual violence (including harassment and assault), and intimate partner violence among California adults. It also summarizes experiences of discrimination, mental health outcomes, protective and risk factors for violence, and COVID-19 impacts. The sample includes 2,285 adult (age 18+) state resident respondents surveyed in March 2022.

Weighted AAPOR RR3 cumulative response rate: 3.5%
Sampling:  View help for Sampling The sample was primarily generated from a general population sample of California adults aged 18 and older selected from NORC’s AmeriSpeak Panel, the most representative online probability panel available in the U.S. The AmeriSpeak panel sample was additionally supplemented with respondents from the Dynata and Lucid nonprobability online opt-in panels. TrueNorth statistical calibration was conducted by NORC to combine these probability and nonprobability samples.
