Project Description

Summary:  View help for Summary
This project analyses data on labor earnings, demographics, migration movements and usage of a preferential tax scheme for migrants in the Netherlands. The purpose of the data construction was to evaluate the effectiveness of the preferential tax scheme in attracting international migrants towards the Netherlands. All data have been derived from administrative records from Statistics Netherlands (CBS) and have been anonymized through aggregating individual-level data into summary statistics for (narrow) income bins. The data covers all migrants that arrived in the Netherlands between 2006 and 2019 (with the exception of a number of specific groups described in the paper).
