Project Description
Scope of Project
Methodology
- The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) was used to identify organizations that can be considered health care services.
- Establishment data was taken from the National Establishment Time Series (NETS) database.
- ZCTAs for establishments, as well as land area per ZCTA, were determined using the 2019 version of the US TIGER/Line shapefiles.
- ZCTA population figures for 2000-2010 are drawn from the 2000 decennial US Census and the 2012 American Community Survey (ACS) five-year estimate.
- Population figures for 2011-2017 were
obtained from the NaNDA Socioeconomic Status and Demographic Characteristics of ZIP Code
Tabulation Areas, United States, 2008-2017 (https://www.openicpsr.org/openicpsr/project/120462/).
