The Interactive Voice Response
(IVR) survey was conducted by Professor Anthony Piscitelli with assistance from
students in the Conestoga College Public Service Program. The poll was crowd
funded by Craig Radcliffe as an attempt to understand the dynamics of the race for
Waterloo Region. This survey was conducted by randomly sampling listed landline
numbers and randomly dialing likely Waterloo Region cellphone numbers. Results
are considered accurate +/- 4.25%, 19 times out of 20. The margin of error on
subsamples is higher. Sampling error also exists due to the mismatch created by
the random dialing of phone numbers as opposed to randomly sampling actual
Waterloo Region residents. The results represent a snapshot in time and may not
be indicative of the final election results.

Methodology
Response Rate:
View help for Response Rate
The overall contact rate was 15.50% (the percent that picked up).
The overall completion rate among all live lines contacted was 0.23%
The partial response rate among all live lines contacted was 0.25% (Respondents who answered at least 3 questions).
The partial response rate just among those who answered was 1.64%.
The completion rate of just among those who answered was 1.49%.
These results were based on 230,228 live lines that were called. 35,681 people who answered. 585 people that completed at least three questions. 530 people that completed all the questions. 904 people answered at least 1 question. 50 were 17 or under and not eligible for the survey. 72 indicated they lived outside of Waterloo Region and were not eligible for the survey. Indicating 13.5% of lines contacted were not eligible for the survey.
If 13.5% is used to estimate ineligible lines then the response full response rate is estimated at 0.27% and the partial response rate is estimated at 0.29%

The sample was created by randomly selecting Waterloo Region
landlines as listed in a digital phone book. A sample of likely cellphone
numbers was added by randomly selecting phone numbers that according to the Canadian Numbering Administrator were originally
assigned to Waterloo Region.
