Project Description

Summary:  View help for Summary The 1986 Bay Area Race and Politics Survey was a random-digit telephone survey of residents of the San Francisco-Oakland metropolitan area. The Survey Research Center of the University of California, Berkeley, conducted the survey from August through October 1986, using the CASES system for computer-assisted telephone interviewing.   Interviews were completed with 1,113 persons, and the response rate was 68.1 percent. This was the main dataset analyzed in The Scar of Race by Paul M. Sniderman and Thomas Piazza (Cambridge, Mass.: Harvard University Press, 1993).
