Project Description
.An exhaustive collection of Virginia election dataset-To map and publish as many partisan Virginia statewide, federal, congressional and state legislative elections as possible, which had precinct level results on the department of elections website. This was so that they could be analyzed by researchers in the field of political science. A lesser but important goal was data preservation. Prior to this project, DRA only had election data for Virginia for 2008, 2012, 2016 and onwards. There was no data for lower level offices that occurred prior to 2017. This project sought to fill in these gaps. To be included, the data had to have been available by precinct on the Virginia Department of Elections website
