Methodology

Data Source:  View help for Data Source Merative MarketScan Commercial Claims and Encounters Database (MarketScan) is a large sample of US enrollees from all 50 states covered by employer-sponsored health insurance. MarketScan consists of administrative billing claims from inpatient, outpatient, and retail pharmacy settings. MarketScan is a proprietary dataset available for purchase under a restricted data use agreement; therefore, data cannot be shared publicly.
