Project Description

Summary:  View help for Summary This dataset was created for a project examining the relationship between sports playing facility construction and local construction industry employment in the Minneapolis-St Paul – Bloomington, MN/WI MSA in the United States.  The main purpose of the project was to find evidence whether local construction industry employment is higher during periods when professional or major college sports playing facilities were being built.  If construction employment is no higher or lower during periods of construction, playing facility construction projects may simply crowd out other construction projects.  If construction employment is lower during periods of playing facility construction, these projects may crowd out other construction projects that would have employed more workers in construction firms.
