The purpose of the project is to assess and compare the knowledge, attitudes and believes of
the obstetricians and midwives regarding a large set of complementary and
alternative therapies in the area of the Corredor del Henares in Spain.
In this cross-sectional survey, a previously validated set of questionnaires was fulfilled from September 2015 to December 2015 by midwives
and obstetricians working at the hospitals in the Corredor del Henares area,
in Spain. The principal outcome was to identify the knowledge, attitudes and
believes about complementary and alternative medicine of obstetricians and
midwives who work in this area, and secondary outcomes were to study the
differences between obstetricians and midwives, to determine the most known
and accepted therapies among the professionals, and to analyze the influences
of the demographic variables.
A total of 109 responses (66 from midwives and 43 from obstetricians) were received.
