Project Description

Summary:  View help for Summary This study investigates the ways in which smallholder farmers in Cameroon are being affected by and adapting to climate change. The data are from in-depth interviews with 45 farmers across 4 of Cameroon’s 10 regions. We find that 76% of interviewed farmers report lower harvests due to changes in their local climate, mostly due to disruptions in local rainfall patterns. Reported adaptation mechanisms are primarily changes in practices like input use and the timing of planting and harvesting rather than changes in crop choice, area cultivated, or economic activity.
