Project Description

Summary:  View help for Summary This project contains code necessary to reproduce all tables and figures in "Measuring Consumer Spending Using Card Transaction Data: Lessons from the COVID-19 Pandemic." The data we are using from Fiserv is a proprietary data source purchased by the Bureau of Economic Analysis from Fiserv/Palantir. According to the agreement we are not allowed to distribute or share any form of the raw data outside of the Bureau of Economic Analysis and U.S. Census Bureau. However, we provide a “readme” document that lists the associated steps necessary to produce the estimates reported in our paper.  Where necessary, we provide dummy data where we replace current data with random numbers.
