Project Description

Summary:  View help for Summary The Optic Disc tilt (ODT) or Tilted optic disc is a common finding in the general population and it is due to anomalous ocular development caused by the malclosure of the embryonic optic fissure. ODT is commonly associated with high myopia as well as other conditions (e.g., astigmatism, visual field loss, defective color vision, and retinal abnormalities). This dataset of ODT images contains both horizontal and vertical cross-sectional images obtained using Spectral-Domain Optical coherence tomography (SD-OCT, Cirrus 5000, Carl Zeiss Meditec Inc., Dublin, CA). The optic disc cube 200 x 200 program was used and all the images are aligned with the center of the optic nerve head. All OCT images are 8-bit grayscale images of dimensions of 200 x 200 pixels corresponding to 6 mm x 6 mm (894 x 596 pixels). These datasets cover both clinically normal (20 eyes) and myopic subjects (101 eyes). For each type of image, clear and manually segmented by a clinical expert (ground truth) are available. Additional information includes, age, gender, laterality, refractive error classification, spherical equivalent, best corrected visual acuity, intraocular pressure and axial length. This dataset can be used to test and validate newly developed automated segmentation algorithms.
