Project Description

Summary:  View help for Summary A survey of knowledge, attitudes and practices amongst residents of peninsular Malaysia in response to the phenomenon of transboundary haze pollution affecting the region on a seasonal basis. Two subsamples were surveyed: one group of 125 people were taking part in a duathlon event, and one (control) group of members of the general public wandering through a popular shopping mall. The duathlon event was included to ensure that the overall sample included people who regularly practice sport, as these were identified as an at-risk group in relation to the health and lifestyle effects of air pollution episodes. The survey instrument was compiled in two languages (English and Bahasa Melayu) and composed of four parts: 1. Demographics; 2. Knowledge questionnaire; 3. Attitude questionnaire and 4. Wellbeing scale (found to be unreliable).
