Project Description

Summary:  View help for Summary The 2003 Golden Bear Omnibus Survey (GBO) was a statewide random-digit telephone survey funded and carried out by the Survey Research Center, with additional support provided by the individual investigators.

The survey population was defined as all Spanish- and English- speaking adults 18 years of age or older, residing in households with telephones, within the state of California. The number of completed interviews was 1,050.  The overall response rate was 32.6 percent.

The investigators were each responsible for a separate component of the survey which were drawn together to form the content of the interview. Although each investigator had the opportunity to explore a particular topic, all investigators share a sizable core of common items in the interview and benefit from a statewide, cross-sectional sample.
