Project Description

Summary:  View help for Summary Our research compares 314 obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) and 319 control participants in terms of smoking prevalence, nicotine dependence and impulsivity. revealed Smoking prevalence did not differ between the two groups but the severity of nicotine dependence was higher among OCD patients. OCD group had greater total, cognitive and non-planning impulsivity than controls and this pattern of  was also the case for OCD and control current and never-smokers. In both groups, modest positive associations were found between impulsivity and nicotine dependence. The relationships were relatively stronger for the OCD group.
