File Description

Summary:  View help for Summary The Hellenic Candidate Study 2007 (National Election Candidate Study for the 2007 Greek Parliamentary Election) has been conducted by the Laboratory of Applied Political Research, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki as part of the  Comparative Candidate Survey (CCS) which is a joint multi-national project with the goal of collecting data on candidates running for national parliamentary elections in different countries using a common core questionnaire to allow for cross-country comparison. The core questionnaire focuses on the relationships between the candidate, the party and the voters. Campaigning is a major topic, but other domains like recruitment and carrier patterns, issues and ideology, and democracy and representation are also included.

Methodology

Sampling:  View help for Sampling All ND and PASOK candidates with publicly available email address have been invited to participate in the web survey. The sample used in the second wave of data collection (telephone interviews) was randomly selected among those candidates who had not respondent to the first wave of data collection (web survey).
