Summary
This data collection consists of an XML file of National Science Foundation (NSF) awards funded during and before the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA).  NSF awards were harvested by the Inter-university Consortium for Political and Social Research (ICPSR) in 2011 from the online NSF awards database (http://www.nsf.gov/).  NSF records from 2007 to 2010 are included, selected from directorates believed to fund social and behavioral science data collections.

Fields included in the records: abstract, award instrument, award number, award number sort, awarded amount to date, co-PI name, co-PI names, expiration date, field of applications, last amendment date, organization, organization city, organization phone, organization state, organization street address, organization zip, principal investigator, PI e-mail address, program element code, program element codes, program manager, program reference code, program reference codes, start date, title.  ICPSR added a variable, screenstatus, to indicate if an award was likely to have collected data and been related to the social or behavioral sciences ('Yes'); 'No' indicates awards that did not meet the aforementioned screening status, and 'New' or null values indicate awards that were not screened.  ARRA awards have a program reference code of 6890.
